The Honesty-First Principle

The Three-Layer Fit Analysis

Every fit score runs through three layers. Each layer can override the others.

Layer 1
Deterministic Gap Check
Hard-coded logic catches the things that mathematically cannot be polished away. The model never sees these as judgment calls. They are pass-fail.
  • Management requirement when the JD names a leadership role (VP, Director, Head of, "manage a team") but your resume shows no direct reports or team leadership history
  • Years of experience mismatch when the JD requires 8+ years and your resume shows substantially less
  • Required license or certification the role demands (RN, CPA, bar admission, M.D., Series 7, security clearance, CDL, real estate) that doesn't appear on your resume
Layer 2
Semantic Match
AI compares your resume content against JD requirements at a level of detail Google can't. Quota numbers vs. quota requirements. Deal sizes. Industries you've sold into. Tools you've used. Sales motion type (inbound, outbound, channel, enterprise, mid-market). This is where most of the real signal comes from.
Layer 3
Score Honesty Enforcement
The score itself determines what you see next.
  • Scores 1 to 4: Resume Tune-Up and ATS Coaching are hidden. You get redirected to better-fit role types.
  • Scores 5 to 7: Full kit with caveat language about the gaps you'll need to bridge in the interview.

Onsight Pro Intel runs live web searches every time. Recent news, leadership changes, funding events, competitive moves, reported challenges. Each claim is anchored to a real URL you can click and verify.

Sources are cited at the bottom of every Intel section. If a topic returns weak signal, the kit says so out loud instead of inventing something. You should never read a bullet in your prep kit that you can't trace back to a source.
